Philea is a French brand of high quality precious and fine gemstones. Founded by Jean-Baptiste Lecerf, Philea’s brand  distinguished itself by its commitment to quality and transparency.
The name Philea is inspired by Philae, the first space probe to land on Churyumov-Gerasimenko comet. Behind the name, is Jean-Baptiste’s wish to to convey the idea of a permanent exploration and a quest for excellence. This is why Philea is committed to providing rare and exceptional quality gemstones from both ethical and sustainable sources.
Philae means "to love" in Greek and is inspired by the Greek term Philia which refers to friendship and affection. For Jean-Baptiste, gemstones are more than just a piece of jewellery, they symbolise affection, connection and emotion.
It was during his many travels around the world that the idea of blending the words Philae and Philia came to life and gave birth to Philea.
